Simply Plated is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the Simply Plated iOS application ("App"). Learn more at roft-comp.eu.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google's authentication service.
Meal photos: Photos you capture or select to log meals are uploaded to our secure cloud storage (Amazon S3) for nutritional analysis. Images are processed by our AI service and may be stored to populate your meal history.
Nutritional & health data: Calorie and macro data generated from your meal logs, as well as any dietary goals or preferences you configure in the app.
Usage data: App interaction data, crash reports, and performance diagnostics collected via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.
Purchase data: Subscription and purchase status managed through Apple's StoreKit. We do not store your payment card information.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and personalise core app features (meal scanning, meal planning, AI chat).
To authenticate you securely and maintain your account.
To improve app quality through anonymised analytics and crash reports.
To verify subscription status and unlock premium features.
To respond to support requests if you contact us.

3. Third-Party Services

Simply Plated integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics) – firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Amazon Web Services (S3, Lambda, Bedrock) – aws.amazon.com/privacy

4. Data Retention

We retain your meal photos and nutritional history for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen within the App. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

5. Data Security

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Meal images are stored in a private Amazon S3 bucket with access controlled via short-lived presigned URLs. We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Children's Privacy

Simply Plated is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Object to or restrict processing of your data.
Request a portable copy of your data.
Withdraw consent at any time.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
